Developed by our R&D department and previewed at Host Milano in October 2025, Aurea will be available on the market at the beginning of 2026.

Aluminium coffee capsules
Superior barrier and in-machine performance
Aluminium is considered the gold standard in premium coffee packaging for Nespresso®*-compatible capsules.
Ground coffee is extremely sensitive to oxidation, which rapidly degrades aromas and essential oils. Aluminium offers a complete 100% barrier against oxygen, light, and moisture, preserving the volatile compounds responsible for aroma and maintaining coffee freshness as if just ground. This total protection allows premium blends to be stored without any qualitative loss, ensuring optimal shelf-life.
Beyond preservation, aluminium performs exceptionally in-machine. Its malleability allows Nespresso®* needles to pierce it easily, while its thermal conductivity uniformly distributes heat during extraction. At the same time, it withstands the high pressures—19 bar—necessary for perfect espresso.
Infinite Recyclability
Aluminium is infinitely recyclable when collected appropriately. According to the International Aluminium Institute, recycling aluminium requires only 5% of the energy needed to produce it from raw materials, and it can be recycled endlessly without quality loss.
In some countries, there's no need to separate the capsule from the ground coffee, simplifying the recycling process for end users. The aluminium is recovered during recycling regardless of coffee residue, making disposal more convenient.
In conclusion, aluminium's established recycling infrastructure supports PPWR compliance objectives when paired with appropriate collection systems, making it a truly circular solution for premium coffee packaging.
